Our large shingle private beach offers easy access to launch boats, canoes and sailboards. Boat storage available. Sailing permits available on site.
Bala lake ('Llyn Tegid’ in Welsh) is 4 miles long and 0.75 mile wide. It offers excellent coarse (fresh-water) fishing with pike, roach, perch, grayling and eels being the fish most commonly caught.

Walking near Glanllyn - Lake Bala and Aran Mountain in viewGlanllyn Park is ideally situated for hill walkers being close to the foot of Aran Benllyn mountain, also Cader Idris mountain, the Arenigs and Berwyn mountain ranges are nearby. www.welshwalks.info

Our local market town of Bala is on the borderline between North and Mid Wales therefore, very central for sightseeing numerous attractions of both areas.

White Water Rafting near Bala The Tryweryn National Whitewater centre, (phone: 01678 521083 website: www.ukrafting.co.uk ) famous for its rafting and canoeing, is 5 miles away and there is tuition available for all types of water-borne activity.

Bala Adventure and Watersports Centre is 3 miles away offering tuition and equipment hire for sailing, windsurfing, kayaking, white rafting, climbing, abseiling, raft building, canoeing and mountain biking. Check out their website for more information  http://www.balawatersports.com
Cycling is an exhilarating and healthy way of enjoying the countryside and there are a variety of routes and trails, many of which will be fully way marked and will have accompanying leaflets. Details of these are available from the Tourist Information Centre. You can hire a bike or if you have your own mountain bike you can follow the first class trails in the Coed y Brenin, being only 20 minutes away - www.mbwales.com   and Gwydir forests or the Lôn Las Cymru, the cross Wales cycle route. No 8. There are also a number of local routes in the area - Lôn Las Menai, Lôn Eifion and Lôn Ardudwy www.cyclingnorthwales.co.uk
